Podcast
My experience with podcast was a rollercoster ride. Judy said it was not an easy assignment so I figured I would get started on it before the due date just in case I experienced some difficulty. As I went through the assignment I was learning and entertained at the same time. I did not see difficulty in the assignment until trying to upload my podcast on my wiki page. I eventually was able to upload the podcast on my page but it took me a day or two. So far in the early stages of this course I have used tools on the internet I have never heard of. That is one of the most enjoyable things of this class so far. With this class meeting online I also noticed Judy's instructions on creating a podcast and how specific they were. That is much appreciated for a course like this considering we never meet face to face. The only problems I ran into were of course the computer just being difficult. After watching the videos and reading up on podcast I was ready to begin my own podcast. After getting familiar with the website I then sat down and thought about what would be informative to the class and could help everyone benefit. I chose to write about preparing for an interview because that is very essential. This element of teaching can help the classroom because it is not the traditional learning we are acustom too. Like I was intrigued so will other students who learn about podcasting and what it has to offer. These different elements of teaching are educational and enlightening. It is always fun to learn something new and to learn it in a creative manner. The great thing about podcasting is people can discuss whatever comes to mind and still serve as an educational purpose.

Blogging & Twittering
Before using blogs for my classes I had never blogged or belonged to a website such as this. That is the same with twitter. I once was on facebook but got off. Through these first two weeks I have been enlightened to both of these social networks. I have learned more people are on these networks than i originally thought. I also learned this form of communication is not as personal as a phone call but many people around the world use it to stay in contact with one another. People take their blogs very seriously and design their blogs in a manner that suits their personality. I will follow the best friends network on twitter to keep up with my friends and see what they are up too. I chose this network because friends are important and life and should be there to cherish the good moments we have as individuals. After this class concludes it will be interesting to see how much my knowledge has developed after using both of these tools. These networks are used in classroom settings to allow students to be creative and stretch their ideas past just pen and paper.
My eyes have been opened to how many people use blogs and how they impact the classroom. People can see the work you have done or what is going on in your life. I also learned how bloggers use blogs as an online journal instead of a traditional journal. Communication has been enhanced through this online writing and people do not see it as boring as traditional writing assignments. Not only do kids find it stimulating but adults do as well. Blogs can be used in the classroom and for companies. Blogging is used internationally to bring people together who are many miles away from one another. It can be a confidence builder as people admire their work and they begin to believe they are good writers. In the classroom blogs cover every area of curriculum. Educational blogging is used by students, teachers, and administraters. The evolution of blogs has reached all ages and many people express their ideas and thoughts about events in their life through their online blogs.
Twitter is a new, fun, and exciting way to let people know what you are up too. This is different than other sites because people have others following their every move and many athletes and other famous people use this to reach out to their fan base. I first learned about twitter through athletes always tweeting to their fans and people following their every move. I will not be doing all of that but I will use it to check in with friends. Twitter can also help the class communicate with one another as the blogs will. We can see what is going on in each other's lives outside the classroom. Twitter can be used by all generations. There is no age limit and I believe more and more people will begin to use this network. I was blown away when I signed up for my account and regonized so many faces already on. Previous people I worked with and childhood friends were all already on twitter. This is a unique site that people can have fun with and just stop in and say hello to one another. This should be a fun semester using these two sites.
